Boris Israelewitsch Anisfeld, Russian Soviet era, 1879 to 1973, watercolor painting on paper depicting a portrait of a woman in the Expressionism manner, 1956. Signed and dated lower right. Framed. Additionally inscribed, Anisfeld, on the backside. Boris Anisfeld is a Russian Soviet and American painter, graphic artist, and theater set designer. The design of the performances of the Diaghilev enterprise, and after moving to America, the productions of the Metropolitan Opera, brought Anisfeld success in the theatrical field. He managed to acquire his unique painting style only after a trip with Sergei Diaghilev to Paris in 1906. One of a kind artwork.
