In the year before Kelly died after his first stroke already in a wheel chair but before the more devastating second that took his life in the 1990s in LA he signed for a charity for us 100 Singing in the Rain photos we met him in a park he arrived with his staff with THIS umbrella Kevin Martin the owner of Piece of the Past famed authenticator said to him "I bet people ask you to sign their umbrellas all the time" He said you would think so on account of the movie SInging in the Rain but no they actually do not I do not recall EVER having signed someones umbrella so Mr Martin asked if he could buy Mr Kellys umbrella and have him sign it Mr Kelly generously said no he wouldnt charge but he could have it and signed it BOLDLY largely on a white panel it has been in Mr Martins personal collection for over 25 years with a fully illustrated serial numbered COA searchable online
