Louis XVI Sterling Silver Jam Serving Set by Internationally Known French Silversmith Martial Fray "Silversmith to the French Aristocracy" Includes 12 Magnificent Gold Plated 950 Sterling Silver (Vermeil) Serving Spoons - Circa 1850s. An Ultra Luxurious Addition to Your Breakfast Table and a Worthy Addition to the Family Estate, the Elegance, Sophistication and Quality of Original French 19th Century 950 Sterling Silver and Vermeil, The Ultimate in Luxurious Living. This magnificent covered jam server with gold plated sterling spoons measures approximately 24 cm. in height to the top of the lid, roughly 23.00 cm. across to the outside of the handles and weights an amazing 1,628 grams. It is stamped with the French government's Head of the Minerva 1 hallmark certifying a minimum of 950 sterling silver as well as the Martial Fray sterling silver manufacturer's hallmark. Martial Fray operated in Paris at 22 rue Pastourelle in the 3rd arrondissment here in Paris between 1849 and 1861. This set is in excellent condition and comes with its own anti-tarnish storage wrap for easy storage. The dainty gold plated 950 sterling silver (vermeil) serving spoons measure approximately 15.3 cm. in length and weighs roughly 18 grams. Each are stamped with the French government's Head of the Minerva 1 hallmark as well as the Francois Pamphile Jozan sterling silver manufacturer's hallmark. Francois Pamphile Jozan operated here in Paris at 13 rue Simon le Franc between 1836 and 1847.
