A pair of creamware cheese plates from the 'Baltic Set Dinner Service', circa 1802
Enamelled with a border of oak leaves and acorns reserving panels inscribed 'Nelson', above blue ribbons inscribed 'the Glorious 1st of August' and 'the San Josef', the cavetto titled 'Aboukir' and '14th Feby', the centre with a fouled anchor, 'Nelson, 2nd April, Baltic', enclosed by a laurel wreath, 18.8cm diam (2)

The Baltic Set dinner service, as listed in the circa 1813 Trickey Inventory, included plates for soup, dinner and dessert courses as well as '10 cheese plates.'
