Description
A Franz Porcelain flower vase. Produced for the Van Gogh Museum (Amsterdam) after his piece "The Courtesan," by Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890), the original produced circa 1886 for the cover of the magazine Paris Illustre, that work itself based on an original woodcut by the Japanese artist Keisai Eisen (1790-1848). A large oblong body featuring relief botanical, wildlife, and landscape designs and a central high relief figure with complicated relief headpiece crown to hair. Marked FRANZ VAN GOGH MUSEUM underside.
Dimensions: 14.25 X 10 X 4.5 in.
Condition: Good overall condition having mild surface wear. Estate fresh to the market.
