Description
A collection of antique German Art Nouveau copper relief plaques, each with a distinctive design. Among the assortment, three feature intricate foliate repousse motifs, while another depicts a fountain with a bird. One plaque showcases the Holy Mother surrounded by a wreath and vines, while another captures a group of hunting dogs pursuing a wild boar. Additionally, there's a plaque featuring a winged putti angel with florets, one with a Satire and leaf design, and lastly, one portraying an archangel alongside another putti. Each plaque is meticulously detailed, with some with the words "gesetzl geschützt" stamped to the lower left corner. Mounted on teal blue velvet backings, these plaques are housed in a hinged leather-bound box with fitted filing slots for each plate. Measuring approximately 6.25" x 8.5" x .2" each. Provenance: This item originated from a distinguished auction event hosted by Sotheby's in October 1995, designated as LOT 3726 at the Neues Schloss (New Castle), Baden-Baden, Germany. It was a part of the royal collection belonging to Margrave Max von Baden (1933-2022), a prominent figure in European aristocracy and the first cousin of Prince Charles III. This auction showcased a selection of valuable items from his esteemed collection.

Condition: Good overall condition having mild patina and surface wear. Box showing evidence of storage wear having losses to edges and corners. Estate fresh to the market.
