An abstract murti of the sweet Lord Krishna. Besides a handsome face with a calm, gathered expression, there is not much in terms of concrete resemblance to anatomy in terms of form. Yet, elements of traditional Krishna iconography have been intelligently introduced into the composition: the peacock feather emerging from His turban and, of course, the flute. This Krishna murti is a pure brass, highly stylised sculpture. A strip of skilfully carved metal starts from the base of the neck, coursing across space to gather in a delicate, solid fold upon the simplistic, round-shaped pedestal. Visually, it is indicative of His signature tribhanga stance. The richly coloured inlay-work adds so much character to the work. It is expressive of the peacock plumage as well as the jewel-coloured attire of the Lord.
