Produced for less than two years by Hiram Passage and George Van DeCar of the Bonafide Mfg. Co. in Plymouth, Michigan, this extremely rare 3 3/8" bait was constructed of cast aluminum, hollow to allow the fisherman to ad cork for buoyancy or weight for added depth. Complete with its fancy front prop, hair tied treble, and the majority of the red gill and mouth paint, condition is about Ex- with some tarnish and light wear, appearing to be uncleaned. To many collectors, the c1906 "Bonafide" is one of the most coveted of all metal lures, with only a handful known, certainly one of the rarest.
