青銅蒜頭壺，長頸，削肩，圓腹，圈足，瓶口似蒜頭而得名。而隨著其他酒器的創新與發展，瓷蒜頭瓶逐漸取代了青銅蒜頭瓶，在用途上，元代始已由酒器演變為陳設器，此蒜頭瓶周身光素無紋，只是在頸部有一道凸起的弦紋。
