You are bidding on a fabulous old Art Nouveau hot cast bronze statue of a female satyr! This piece is signed by the artist in the bronze: Aurore Onu, (French sculptor, working from about 1895-1925). T is another stamp after the signature which is probably the foundry. It is a very rare and heavy piece, weighing about 9 pounds. The bronze is 11 inches high. The detail of this beautiful svelte nude satyr lady is exquisite! She is seated and holding a festive may-ring, which is wound with grape vines and a suspended a tambourine. Overall condition is excellent. This lovely Orneth sculpture exudes the fertile joy of rural springtime and wine! It has received many compliments and has stimulated many a conversation.
