Description

Antique "bureau plat" writing desk, with banded burlwood inlay and five drawers. Brass pulls. c. Early 19th Century. Provenance: From the Greenwich, CT estate of artist Taira Rapoport. Dimensions: H 29.5" x W 54.5" x D 33.75". Condition: Missing key. Sun fading to top, discoloration to front; losses to inlay, several stress cracks, dings and chips. Losses to inlay; missing trim to one corner. Dings and gouges throughout. Wear consistent with age and use.
