Description
English Porcelain Cobalt Blue-Ground Part Dessert Service, 1825-45. Each painted to the center with a bouquet of roses and summer flowers within a wide cobalt blue border or rim gilt with foliate scrolls, the serving pieces with gilt pierced twig handles, comprising a comport, three lozenge-shaped dishes, three shell-shaped dishes, two rectangular dishes, a sauce tureen, cover and liner, an extra sauce tureen cover, and twenty-two 8.75- inch plates, unmarked. (34) Comport: H: 8.25 in., W: 14.25 in., D: 8.875 in. Provenance: Property from the Collection of Cortlandt and Nancy Knowles Parker, Greenvale Farm Estate and Vineyard, Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
