Mark Chitty's Pearlware Presentation Punch Pot, Dated 1781. Of spherical form, inscribed on one side "MARK CHITTY 1781," and painted on the other side with a chinoiserie view of a pagoda in a fenced garden flanked by a willow tree and tall flowering plant, the cover with views of birds in flight, a hut and plants on striped patches of ground, each piece surrounded by a trellis diaperwork border, the spout painted with similar striped patches and a vine, the handle with bellflowers. H: 8.375 in., W: 13 in., D: 7.5 in. Provenance: The collection of Jessie Hayden Rablin (Mrs. Richard Loring Rablin), Antrim, New Hampshire.
