Three Staffordshire Creamware Plates Pertaining to the Marquis de Lafayette, After 1824, and a Wedgwood Jasper Dip Portrait Medallion. Comprising two red transfer-printed "LA FAYETTE" and "WASHINGTON" plates, each surrounded by a molded floral rim heightened in enamels; and a blue transfer-printed "General La Fayette, WELCOME TO THE LAND OF LIBERTY" plate, Ralph & James Clews, impressed factory mark; and a Wedgwood white on black jasper dip oval portrait medallion depicting "LA FAYETTE," impressed "WEDGWOOD," "LA FAYETTE" AND "BB964." (4) Two plates: H: 0.75 in., Diam: 7.5 in. Provenance: Both Lafayette-Washington plates affixed with paper labels, one from the Richards Collection, and the other from the Ellouise Baker Larsen Collection.
