Description
Pair of George III Painted Brooches/ Pendants, Circa 1775-90, Now Made into a Choker. Each of navette form, painted in sepia and surrounded by a seed pearl border, the first depicting a young maid weaving a foliate hair wreath, the second a woman in neoclassical robes, holding a wreath above a pair of billing doves, 14k gold mounts, both mounted on a black velvet ribbon. Each: H: 1.5 in., W: 0.75 in. Choker: L: 12.625 in. Provenance: Property from the Collection of Cortlandt and Nancy Knowles Parker, Greenvale Farm Estate and Vineyard, Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
