Mellow golden set of cast iron still banks-- Buster Brown and dog that appears like Tige. Dog bank is by Lancaster Brand Iron (Hubley) circa 1906. A.C. Williams Buster Brown and Tige still have proper screws, red highlights, and face detailing. Both are desirable icons of Americana from Buster Brown Shoe Company characters. Buster Brown is a comic-strip character created in 1902 by Richard F. Outcault. Adopted as the mascot of the Brown Shoe Company in 1904, Buster Brown, along with his dog Tige became kid icons of culture and style.
