A modern surreal lithograph in colors on paper titled "Chevalier Surrealiste (Homage to Velazquez)" by Salvador Dali. Hand signed in pencil bottom right and annotated 162/700 bottom left. Published by Bowles/Hopkins, New York, NY Printed by Atelier Dumas, New York, NY in 1980 (plates destroyed). In this artwork, Dali showcases a hero-like figure on a horse and the portrait is a nod to the Spanish painter Diego Velazquez. Yet, what is intriguing is his bodice appears to have a hole and a female figure stands in the background in royal attire. This figure is a reference to Diego Velazquez's famous painting "Las Meninas." From a private collection. Dimensions: 38"h x 30.5"w x 1.5"d (framed). In very good vintage condition. Salvador Dali (1904-1989) was a Spanish painter who was one of the most influential and celebrated artists of the 20th century.
