A modern romantic engraving in colors on wove paper titled "Cyrano de Bergerac and Roxanne" from the "Famous Lovers" suite by Salvador Dali. Hand signed bottom right with an annotation of E.A. on the bottom left. Published in 1971. The suite depicts classic love stories (Adam & Eve, Cyrano de Bergerac & Roxanne, Paris and Helen of Troy, Samson & Deliah, Europa and the Bull, Caesar and Cleopatra). Dali created the suite as a celebration of love and he dedicated it to his wife, Gala. From a private collection. Dimensions: 27.75" h x 21.75" w x .75" d (framed). In good vintage condition with some areas of foxing. Salvador Dali (1904-1989) was a Spanish painter who was one of the most influential and celebrated artists of the 20th century. Known as one of the founders of the Surrealism movement, he became an artistic icon. His work today can be found in countless museums, galleries, and institutions across the world, and his impact on the modern art world will be remembered for generations to come.
