Description

Early rigmate pair of pintails with relief wing carving and scratch feather paint detail. These birds are rigmates to the pair of mallards in this sale, and have never been offered at auction. Measure 14.5" and 16.5" long.

Provenance: Rig of Marks Labat, a friend of Lafrance from Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. Used at Pointe a la Hache, Louisiana. By descent in the Labat family.

Condition

Original paint with moderate gunning wear; scattered shallow dents; each with an old chip in tip of tail; minor roughness on tip of drake's bill; minor separation at drake's neck seat.
