Description
AN EARLY GEORGE III SILVER SUGAR VASE
probably by Samuel Wood, London 1767, the waisted and domed cover with a pointed finial and engraved crest within a gadrooned edge, the ogee-shaped bowl with a gadrooned border to the shoulder and twin bifurcated scroll handles, engraved with a crest and coat of arms, raised on a circular foot. 17cm high, 13.3 troy ounces
The marks are clear. The flange to the cover is a little misshapen, but the cover fits nicely. There is some minor surface wear. The foot is good, and the vase does not wobble. In generally good condition commensurate with age.
