AN ART DECO SILVER BETJEMANN'S PATENT TANTALUS, 'THE TANTALUS'
by George Betjemann & Sons Ltd, London 1930, of typical form with open ends and a hinged locking bar overhead, housing three clear and amber cut-glass decanters, the locking bar engraved TO BASIL WITH LOVE FROM GRACIE. 26cm high overall, 35cm long
Reputedly presented to Basil Dean by Gracie Fields.
The marks throughout are clear and crisp. There isn't a key, but the locking bar opens and closes. There are a few very minor nicks and flea bites to the glass, but nothing too detrimental. Some minor surface marks to the silver. In generally good condition commensurate with age and use.
