Antique samurai short sword called Tanto. Blade is 8.5 inches and is mumei, or unsigned. The koshirae or mountings is especially elaborate with a blue silk-cord tsuka or handle. A superb set of brass kogatana and kogai, made to match the brass tsuba, fuchi and kashira, are part of the tanto. A red-lacquered wooden saya completes this exceptional sword. Comes with a silk bag. Rack is not included. Tanto measures 12.5 inches L, blade measures 8 inches L, 13 inches L in scabbard.
