Description
The Imperial Service Medal, a British award established in 1902 and presented upon retirement to civil servants who complete at least 25 years meritorious service. This lot is dated ca. 1931 to 1937. The obverse represents King George V in crown, inscription Georgivs V D. G. Britt. Omn. Rex et Indiae Imp. The reverse depicts a nude man resting from his labours with the inscription For Faithful Service. The name of the recipient, George Arthur Longhurst, is impressed on the rim.
