Description
Early 20th century. Thick cotton hanten coat textile. Katazome is a Japanese method of dyeing fabrics using a resist paste applied through a stencil. Where the paste mixture covers and permeates the cloth, dye applied later will not penetrate. Length 91cm (35.8"), sleeve to sleeve 124cm (48.8").
