Description
Goblet Georg Rex II Glashuette Emde or Altmuenden, third quarter of the 18th century Grey-tinted glass. Raised disc foot with tear and downward turned-down edge. Baluster shaft with punctured air bubble peeled many times. In the honeycomb faceted cuppa base there are two levels, each with seven rosette-like engraved air beads. Frontal low-cut, partly polished depiction of a crowned medallion with the initials ''GR II'' flanked by a lion and a unicorn. Standards, flags, trumpets and drums on the reverse. Glass sick. H. 25 cm George II August (1683 - 1760) was King of Great Britain and Ireland from 1727 until his death, German Elector of Brunswick-Lueneburg (Hanover) and nominally one of the Dukes of Brunswick and Lueneburg.
