Emil Hermann was a landscape and portrait artist, born in the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1869. He had a long and successful career for more than forty years in Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, and Oklahoma before settling permanently in Texas in 1932. His early studies took place at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in 1889. He continued with his art work in the Wichita Falls area until just before his death in 1966.
