American. 1920s. Painted wood and wrought iron.. Goat wagons were made for farm utility, as well as entertainment for children. The wagon was originally built and sold by Studebaker in South Bend, Indiana as "miniature". In 1920 South Bend Toy Co. started building and selling them. Made as late as 1940, they became the most popular wagon for boys of their time. These Studebaker Junior wagons were advertised in the toy section of the 1929 Sears, Roebuck and Co. catalogue at the price of $13.87. Marked, "Studebaker Junior", side panels. Box: 36" x 17" x 8". Wheel diameters: 12" and 18". Total item: 26" x 26" x 37".
Condition
Re-stenciled. Restoration to stencils. Includes the 4 skis ad manual. Repair to the pull handle.
