Northern Wei Dynasty, Ca. AD 386 - 534.
A terracotta ox painted with black pigments. The animal is depicted to be standing, with its head facing downwards. It has been made with lifelike details on the body muscles, facial features, and the crease fold on the neck. This piece has been precisely dated using a Thermo Luminescence analysis carried out by Ralf Kotalla. The report will accompany the lot.
