original land patent for the G. J. Love load owned by the Manhattan Silver Mining Company presented by Alan a Curtis, May 17, 1875. Original patent for mineral certificate number 217 with original hand-drawn pen and ink and color of survey numbers 96, the plat of the GJ love load in the Reese River mining District Lander County Nevada. The patent is signed by a secretary for president US grant. Alan Curtis came from a paper manufacturing company in Massachusetts. He came to Nevada in 1865 when he began to work for New York interests in Austin silver mines. He was promoted to superintendent of the Manhattan Silver Mining Company in 1868 and can and acquired a controlling interest in the company by 1871 the years around 1875 were difficult because of the deep monetization of silver. Mr. Curtis left Nevada in 1885 of which he had also owned the mill at mineral Hill. He left Nevada for humble County California where he constructed a railroad and owned Redwood Mills.
