Virginia & Truckee Railway marked lantern, c1915. A wonderful V&T Railway original lantern. Globe has "V & T Ry." etched on glass. Very top is marked with embossing: "The Adams & Westlake Co./Adlake/Reliable/New York Chicago Phila." Shoulder rim has: "Patented May 5, 1908 - 2 - Pats. Jan. 26, 1909 - Nov. 28, 1911- 2 - Pats July 21, 1912 - Apr 11, 1913." "V. & T. Ry" is prominently embossed on shoulder of cap. Globe is 5.25". Lantern is about 10" tall, wire base is about 7" diameter. White metal. Very fine. Extremely rare. This is one of the finest Nevada railroad lanterns in exemplary condition.
