This gelatin silver print with margins is in generally excellent condition. Upon close examination under raking light, the following are visible: four crescent-shaped, sharp creases in the upper left, lower center, and right portions of the image; and two soft handling creases in the upper center and left, none of which appear to break the emulsion. There is a pinpoint-sized white accretion of indeterminate origin in the upper right corner. The margin edges are gently worn.

On the reverse, the following are written in an unidentified hand in pencil: 'Print made in Time Inc. Photo lab, 1991'; '(c) Time Warner Inc. / All Rights Reserved'; and 'An American Block, Hamilton, Ohio, 1943 by Alfred Eisenstaedt'.
