Marcel Avlon (1894-1981) was a French artist who was born in Paris in 1894. He studied at the Académie Julian and the École des Beaux-Arts. Avlon was a member of the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Tuileries. He is best known for his colorful lithographs and paintings of dancers and circus performers.
Avlon's work is characterized by its vibrant colors, fluid lines, and graceful poses. Avlon's work was influenced by the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists, as well as by the art of the circus.
Avlon's work was exhibited in major galleries and museums throughout Europe and the United States. He was also a successful printmaker, and his lithographs were published by some of the leading printmaking publishers of the time. Avlon died in Paris in 1981.
