Melbourne Spurr photographed Mary Pickford while working at the Fred Hartsook studioand so impressed her that she personally helped launch his career as aHollywood portrait photographer. By the mid-1920s, he was one of thepremier celebrity portraitists in the world.

There is a faint curl to the edges of the photo.

Buster Keaton, 1895-1966, is one of the most famous film comedians and was perhaps the most creative of the early silent era.
