Item Details
Description
The porcelain is carved to show mountains, pine trees and figures. Chen Guozhi, whose birth and death dates are unknown, was born in Qimen, Anhui. He was a famous porcelain sculpture artist in Jingdezhen during the Daoguang and Xianfeng years of the Qing Dynasty. He is good at combining porcelain carvings with glazes, imitating bamboo, wood, and ivory vessels, carving figures and flowers, with both form and spirit, and rich paintings. . Xu Zhiheng's "Yinliuzhai Talking about Porcelain" says: The works are exquisite and rich in painting, imitating bamboo, wood, and ivory, especially spiritually. In ancient times, these glazes were called imitation bamboo glazes, imitation wood glazes, and imitation ivory glazes. As for imitation lacquerware, the carvings are fine, and the glaze color is very similar to lacquer, or real lacquerware, with the words "Chen Guozhi Year Made" in Yang script often engraved on the bottom of the vessel. Guo Baochang, the "Porcelain Supervisor" during the Republic of China, once said that porcelain carvings "have Chen Guozhi in the south and Wang Bingrong in the north. Porcelain carvings are as fine as gold and jade, and the princes are light on them.? "It can be seen that authentic porcelain carvings by Chen Guozhi are extremely rare and are particularly precious today. The height of both is 17.25 inches, and the width is 14 inches.
