Description

Faberge Egg Imperial Rosebud Surprise Necklace Jewelry Box. This Rosebud FabergÃƒÂ© egg jewelry box is based on a jeweled enameled Easter egg made by Mikhail Perchinunder the supervision of the Russian jeweler Peter Carl FabergÃƒÂ© in 1895. The egg was made for Nicholas II of Russia, who presented it to his wife, Empress Alexandra Fyodorovna. This pristine Egg is a beautiful, shimmering orange color accented with golden bars, curves and arrows, all of which are heavily embellished with crystals. Upon opening the egg, one finds a velvet encased yellow enameled rosebud. When removed from the egg, the rose bud opens to yet another surprise: an egg pendant in a matching fiery orange color with arrows, embellished with a crystal cabochon. The golden scrolled stand is separate. 3 1/4" tall
