Many detailed black and white illustrations throughout accompanied by poems of famous poets including Wordsworth, Cowper, Coleridge, Butler, Shelley, Marvel, Pindar, Ben Jonson, Harrison Weir and numerous others. Many different engravers.
Embossed decorative boards with a floral theme, with gilt embossed title and decoration inset into center of front and back boards. Gilt is very bright still. Metalllic colorful & decorative design to spine. Gilt page edges all around.
Portions of spine are chipped off, ieces missing with portion of binding showing to lower end of spine and upper right side.
Corners worn. FEP taped to cover with brown tape; Bep taped to pg. 111 with brown tape. Bfep is taped prior to last page of text. Some foxing throughout, not musty. Some damage to back cover outer edge to bep. Tiny writing in pencil to fep top; bep top.
Fair to good condition.
