Signed in the bottom corner by the known Indian born artist Margaret Ida Elizabeth Pullan.

Set in a traditional chic original wooden painted frame.

Circa late 20th century dated 70 for 1970.

So well executed using in impasto brushstrokes, the artist was able to create an expressive and well-balanced composition, capturing simple innocence in such an elegant style.

Provenance bought from a high end auction south of England. With Paris Salon and other labels verso.

Margaret Ida Elizabeth Pullan artist biography. Painter, born in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, her father being a member of the Indian Civil Service. She schooled in England and studied art privately. Showed with RBA, RP, UA, in the provinces and at Paris Salon, where among awards she gained Gold and Silver Medals. Rugby Art Gallery holds her work. Lived latterly at Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
