This original hand-coloured lithograph arranged and illustrated by H.N. Humphreys, with descriptions by J. O. Westwood, is from British Butterflies and their Transformations, published in London 1841.The print illustrates the following butterfly species, including their caterpillar and chrysalis, and featured plants:1. Argynnis Paphia, male (the silver-washed Fritillary Butterfly). 2. The female. 3. Showing the under side. 4. The Caterpillar. 5. The Chrysalis. 6.
