About the artists: Yaroviy Stepan Kalinovich - Crimean painter. Landscape painter, marine painter, portrait painter, still life master. Member of the Great Patriotic War.
Almost all the work of Yarovoy S.K. devoted to the landscapes of Crimea. Working in the traditions of the Russian realistic school of landscape painting of the 19th century, he searched with warmth and love for beauty in simple motives. The master had a special compositional gift. He always found some main details of the landscape, thanks to which his natural works did not have a sketchy character, but looked like finished works, filled with inner harmony. He strove to do his works in one breath, immediately - “alaprima”, therefore a feeling of freshness and spontaneity emanates from them.
Born October 19, 1913 in the village. Barvinkovo ​​Kharkov region.
Since 1936 he has been living permanently in the Crimea.
In 1937 he graduated from the art studio of the Yalta House of Folk Art.
In 1946, he studied at the Moscow Central Art Studio "Vseokohudozhnik" (All-Russian Union of Cooperative Associations of Fine Art Workers, which existed from 1928 to 1953) under the guidance of B. Johanson.
Since 1954, Stepan Klimovich Yarovoy has been participating in republican and all-union exhibitions.
He participated in foreign exhibitions: 1974 (Hungary, Kecskemét), 1975 (Japan, Tokyo), 1976 (France, Nice).
Since 1958 - a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
He lived and worked in Yalta until his death on July 3, 1988.
Posthumous exhibitions of the artist were held in the National Museum of T.G.Shevchenko: in 2008, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the painter and in 2013, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of his birth.
The works of Yaroviy Stepan Kalinovich are in museum and private collections in Ukraine, Russia, France, Germany, Japan, Poland, Finland and Canada.
