The hemp leaf pattern that characterizes the Sharp Edged Series has a history of being incorporated into Kabuki costumes during the Edo period and becoming a fashion trend.
In addition the fifth generation Danjuro Ichikawa wore persimmon-colored fusuma creating the traditional Japanese color of "persimmon color " and this model's dial and band backing material express that color.
