Description: Beautiful Burleigh Ware Japonica series deep plates with abundant Imari style decoration and dazzling gilding, very well preserved.These plates are hand painted in shades of light orange red, cobalt and green mainly with admirable ornamental work on the edges.They are marked with the factory seal.Beautiful decorative collection pieces in good condition in respect to their age.Brief History of the origin of IMARI decoration in English porcelain:Imari decoration was imported from Japan at the end of the 19th century.Porcelain was decorated and sent to Europe by sea from the port of a small city called Imari.Later in the United Kingdom, famous porcelain factories began to decorate tableware or other porcelain pieces with this type of decoration. It is characterized by the use of 2 basic colors, red and cobalt blue, on a white background, more colors could also be added.Sometimes the graphics seem almost abstract but there is always a floral motif, generally flowers painted in orange-red or dark orange in the center with the petals left white on the edges, although other flowers with other colors can also keep them company.
