Here is an exquisitely crafted pearl button from the 19th century, The large detailed identifiable flower is accented with a light gold iridescent and the button is inlayed with engraved sterling silver. The chatoyancy coloration in the pearl is incredible but was very hard to capture in the images, From the collection of the late Shirley Case.
