Description

1 Extra Large 19th century Pinna shell button.
This button from the collector who wrote the shell classification book for the National Button Society is an incredible and beautiful example of fine craftsmanship of the 19th century. Pinna shell buttons from this period are very hard to find as they were not made in large quantities as they were cut thinly and took a master craftsman to create these beautiful works of art. This example is extremely colorful as witnessed in the images and is finely engraved as well. Great button in great condition. From the collection of the late Shirley Case of Missouri.
