After the stone relief monument in Switzerland, designed by Bertel Thorvaldsen and hewn in 1820–21 by Lukas Ahorn, which commemorates the Swiss Guards who died when revolutionaries stormed the Tuileries Palace in Paris during the French Revolution in 1792.
