2 Antique Chinese Outlaws of the Marsh Scrolls. Printed and hand-colored hand scrolls portraying some of the 108 heroes from Water Margin, sometimes also known as outlaws of the marsh by Shi Nai'an, a story set in the Song Dynasty (960 to 1279 AD) when a gang of 108 banded together to resist corrupt bureaucracy. Each of the characters names is printed to the right of each figure. Size: ranging from 135.5'' x 8.5'', 344 x 22 cm (sight); 147.5'' x 11.5'', 375 x 29 cm (scroll) to 161'' x 8.5'', 409 x 22 cm (sight); 172'' x 11.5'', 437 x 29 cm (scroll)
