Item Details

Description

A large and rare antique Gilt electroplated and champleve enamel bronze tazza, Elkington and Co., attributed to Auguste-Adolphe Willms (head of Elkington's design department from 1855 to 1899), with blue, red, and black enameling highlighting an anthemion motif, supporting a cut to clear cranberry glass dish, with a base of a shaped apron and resting on paw feet. Marks for Elkington and Co., Birmingham, date letter " M" for 1873 on the underside.
16 1/4" H x 11 1/4" in diameter or 41.2 cm H x 31 cm in diameter

Condition

Very good age-appropriate condition with minor enamel losses on the bronze base and surface scratches on the glass.
