Near East / Middle East, Persia (Iran), ca. 12th to 15th century CE. A cast bronze buckle with an elongated, rectangular plate, cast with relief zoomorphic imagery. The non-buckle end is rounded, with a small bobble that extends downward and is pierced through for attachment. A half-circle loop with a heavy pin is attached by a hinge to the metal plate. Size: 3.55" W x 1.45" H (9 cm x 3.7 cm)
Provenance: East Coast collection, New York Gallery, New York City, New York, USA, acquired before 2010
