The jockey and horse, a team of speed, trot to the starting line toprepare for the race. The horse walks by elegantly with his leftforeleg raised while the jockey seems to be captured in a moment ofreflection perhaps reviewing the race with a certain excitedanxiousness. The 100% handmade bronze sculpture was molded using theage-old method of lost wax casting and stained with a brown patinafinish for preservation. It is mounted upon a black marble base withthe artist Milo's signature.The artist Milo lived most of his childhood in Andalusia, Spain.Influenced by an artistic family background, he began sculpting at theage of seventeen. After apprenticing with several accomplishedsculptors both in America and Spain, he began his own work focusingequally on steel and bronze.
