Two French style mother of pearl fans, the first having 11 pierced mother of pearl ribs and two guards each with silver and gilt floral inlay, the paper fan decorated with a scene of 18th century French courtiers enjoying reading and music out of doors; the second having 14 pierced ribs and two guards all with painted decoration (possibly later), the paper fan depicting 18th century French courtiers enjoying musicians out of doors, apparently unmarked, each fan held in a half moon double sided tabletop frame, rising on a socle base apparently unmarked.

Approximate dimensions: overall in frame h. 19", w. 24.5", d. 5".

Not examined out of frames. Both fans with tears at the seams, small paper losses, first fan with losses and breaks to handle, the second fan with yellowing to guards. Both table frames have been painted with gold spray paint.
