English Art Deco dining table, circa 1930, having book matched walnut veneers, shaped top with banded edge, and rising on a pedestal base, with one leaf, the crank mechanism stamped for Joseph Fitter:
Note: Joseph Fitter was a Birmingham mechanist who applied for a patent for an extending dining table in 1861, and traded at 210 Cheapside.
Provenance: From the Private Collection of S. Alan Hamburger, Atlanta, Georgia; acquired from The English Galleries, Bruxelles, November 13, 1986.
